Exploring the famed birding region of Kerala, India, travelers will journey through wetlands, forests, grasslands, and coastal habitats, each offering exceptional birdwatching. Beginning in Kochi, participants will explore the Kadamakkudy Islands to spot waterbirds and winter migrants. In Thatterakad, they will visit the forest, take part in a nocturnal birding session, and cruise along the river. In Eravikulam National Park, they will take part in morning birding before optional massages, chocolate tasting, and Kathakali dance shows. In Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, they will take part in morning birding in dry forests and visit the town of Munnar. While camping in the remote Cloud Forest, participants will see sunset views and take part in a nocturnal bird walk. In Periyar National Park, they can float on bamboo rafts and spot rare birds before a Jeep tour into the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu. Along Gavi Lake, they will go on a wildlife spotting tour and take a boat cruise to a waterfall. The experience concludes in Fort Kochi with historical and cultural highlights of the town.

New birders are welcomed into a supportive, educational environment, while experienced birders can expect a wide range of sightings and the opportunity to learn from expert local naturalists. This trip requires a moderate level of physical fitness, with early mornings, forest walks, and nocturnal birding. As a small-group trip, travelers are guided by experienced local naturalists and the host, Dawn, ensuring a deep understanding of the landscape and culture. Accommodations vary between guest houses and camping, all located in prime birding locations.
