Teach Refugees Art and Music in Jordan

July 9, 2021

Amman is not only the capital of Jordan, but is also a cultural and historical mecca of the Middle East. For those interested in teaching art and music, volunteers have the opportunity to aid in facilitating workshops for children from under-resourced communities, helping them make positive impacts within their own lives. Volunteers will teach students art and music while focusing on themes such as diversity, gender equity and sustainability. You will work 3 hours per day and have lots of time to explore the sites of Amman. Fridays and Saturdays are free days where you can visit the Dead Sea, Mount Nebo, Wadi Rum and one of the New Wonders of the World, the ancient city of Petra. Travelers stay in homestays with local families getting a unique view of Jordanian culture.

This is a minimum 1-week and maximum 12-week trip, that costs $864 for one week. The trip is led by IVHQ, a volunteer travel company with 338 projects in 50 countries, rated #1 Volunteer Travel Company by Go Overseas 7 years in a row. It is a cost-effective option with some programs as low as $20 per day with accommodation and meals included. They are a Certified B Corporation, 100% carbon neutral and every project aligns with a UN Sustainable Development Goal.
